> Athens > De­cem­ber 1 The So­ci­ety for Stud­ies of the Work of Ioan­nis Kapodis­trias is or­ga­niz­ing an evening com­mem­o­rat­ing 200 years since the open­ing of the Congress of Vi­enna on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 1. The event takes place at the Amer­i­can Col­lege of Greece’s Pierce Theater from 7 to 9 p.m. The con­fer­ence is or­ga­nized un­der the aus­pices of the em­bassies of Aus­tria and Switzer­land. The Congress of Vi­enna (1/11/1814-9/6/1815) cre­ated a new Euro­pean or­der after the reign of Napoleon and is con­sid­ered a mile­stone in the de­vel­op­ment of mod­ern diplo­macy.
