Volunteers help put out fire at disused Kiato factory
A resident of Kiato, west of Athens, uses a garden hose to help put out a fire at an abandoned factory yesterday. A total of 20 firefighters and nine fire engines were needed to put out the blaze after wooden pallets and various plastic items caught fire. The exact cause of the blaze was not immediately clear but the Corinth fire service, which handled the operation, said the disused factory was recently being used by homeless people looking for shelter. There were no reports of any injuries as a result of the fire.
