Aca­demics get Wi-Fi ac­cess on the Acrop­o­lis

Aca­demics and stu­dents vis­it­ing the Acrop­o­lis can now ben­e­fit from Wi-Fi fol­low­ing the ex­ten­sion of eduroam (ed­u­ca­tion roam­ing), an ac­cess ser­vice de­vel­oped for the in­ter­na­tional re­search and ed­u­ca­tion com­mu­nity.

The ser­vice is avail­able to all stu­dents, re­searchers and pro­fes­sors fol­low­ing an ini­tia­tive by the Greek Re­search and Tech­nol­ogy Net­work, which op­er­ates un­der the Ed­u­ca­tion Min­istry, and the Acrop­o­lis Restora­tion Ser­vice, which comes un­der the um­brella of the Cul­ture Min­istry. Visi­tors can sim­ply use their univer­sity ac­cess de­tails or “cre­den­tials” to get Wi-Fi on the Acrop­o­lis.
