A hospital will have to pay one of its employees more than 300,000 euros in compensation after she was seriously injured at work, the Council of State decided yesterday. The hospital was ordered to pay a lump sum of 60,150 euros to the woman and to then pay her 500 euros a month, reaching a maximum of 266,000 euros, after a tree branch in the yard outside the hospital fell on her head as she was leaving work. The country’s highest administrative court found that the hospital was culpable for not having ensured the trees within its ground were properly maintained and safe.
