No change to nursery hours

-

A reduction in the working hours of nursery school teachers and assistants will not affect children, the government insisted yesterday.

When it was announced earlier this week that nursery school staff would work six rather than eight hours, there were fears among parents sending their children to public nurseries that this would also lead to the schools being open for fewer hours.

However, the Interior Ministry said yesterday the schedule would not be affected. It assured parents that schools would continue to open from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. and that staff would cover this schedule in shifts.
