More than 400 large families with low incomes have been given prepaid cards that they can use to buy food from a Greek supermarket chain. The cards were handed out by the Apostoli charity, which is run by the Archbishopric of Athens. The 430 families that received them will be able to use the credit to buy fresh Greek products. “From the first days of the economic crisis, the Archbishopric of Athens has supported in any way it can the people’s cohesion and unity and has met the needs of thousands of families,” said Apostoli’s managing director Constantinos Dimtsas.
