Dan­ish stu­dent had been swimming in Aoos River

A coro­ner in north­west­ern Greece was yesterday seek­ing to de­ter­mine the ex­act cause of death of a 29-year-old univer­sity stu­dent from Den­mark whose body was pulled out of the Aoos River near the city of Konitsa on Sun­day. The stu­dent, who had been at­tend­ing the Konitsa Sum­mer School, which is or­ga­nized by the Univer­sity of Ioan­nina, had gone to the river for a swim with another two stu­dents, one from Ser­bia and the other from Latvia. They told po­lice that they be­came sep­a­rated from their friend and later found him dead in the river.
