Five detained for Hydra murder, four more sought
Five Georgian nationals who have been implicated in the murder of a 67-year-old restaurant owner on Hydra were being questioned is Athens yesterday as officers searched for another four Georgians, two couples who are believed to be linked to the crime.
Two of the suspects fled the island in a sea taxi early on Sunday after the killing, giving the driver 500 euros to take them to Varkiza where, they claimed, their child had been taken ill. The five suspects being held sought to escape in a similar way but were stopped by police.
