Tests on weapons cache show no links to old hits
Ballistics tests carried out on a large cache of weapons found on Wednesday in a small building used for storage purposes in Marathon, eastern Attica, indicated that they have not been used in any terrorist attacks or robberies, police said yesterday. The raid turned up rocket-propelled grenades, Kalashnikov assault rifles and submachine guns as well as seven stolen vehicles. A search earlier this week on a house in Molos, Fthiotida, central Greece, also turned up a wealth of arms which similarly proved not to have been used in any criminal activities. Both the Fthiotida and Marathon properties have been linked to Giorgos Petrakakos, an alleged terrorist arrested in Volos last week and believed to be an accomplice of Nikos Maziotis, the leader of the Revolutionary Struggle guerrilla group.
