Handwritten notes discovered at a property where a large cache of weapons was seized by counterterrorism officers earlier this week contained details on about 25-30 prominent businessmen believed to have been potential abduction targets. The notes, according to police sources, listed not only the entrepreneurs’ names, addresses and close relatives, but also what kind of car they drove, the routes they used on a day-to-day basis and whether or not they had a personal security detail. The notes were found in a storage building in Marathon, northeast of Athens, which is linked to Giorgos Petrakakos, an alleged terrorist arrested in Volos last week and believed to be an accomplice of Nikos Maziotis, the leader of the Revolutionary Struggle guerrilla group. Both men are suspected of the abduction of businessman Giorgos Mylonas in 2008.
