Tsipras and Kam­menos don fa­tigues for Evros visit

Prime Min­is­ter Alexis Tsipras (right) and De­fense Min­is­ter Panos Kam­menos are seen deep in dis­cus­sion at the Parmeneion mil­i­tary ex­er­cises in Evros, north­east­ern Greece, yesterday. Dur­ing their visit, Tsipras pledged that his gov­ern­ment would seek to re­store wages in the mil­i­tary to 2012 lev­els, as per a court rul­ing in 2013. ‘You know that it can’t all hap­pen in the im­me­di­ate fu­ture but I as­sure you it is among our pri­or­i­ties so it hap­pens in the fore­see­able fu­ture,’ he told mem­bers of the armed forces. Kam­menos pledged to strengthen Greece’s mil­i­tary pres­ence in Evros.
