Judges de­cide to re­lease Stamati, who can­not af­ford bail

The wife of for­mer De­fense Min­is­ter Akis Tsochat­zopou­los, Viki Stamati, is seen be­ing es­corted from court yesterday af­ter judges ruled in fa­vor of her re­lease from cus­tody af­ter three years in jail, but on sev­eral con­di­tions, in­clud­ing that she post 50,000 eu­ros in bail. How­ever, Stamati’s lawyer, Frangiskos Ragousis, in­di­cated that his 52-yearold client did not cur­rently have the cash to post bail and would need two months to col­lect it.
