French president due in Athens on Thursday, Friday
French President Francois Hollande is due to visit Greece on Thursday and Friday, it was announced yesterday. The French government said that Hollande would become one of only a handful of foreign leaders ever to have spoken in the Greek Parliament on Friday. Nicolas Sarkozy was the last French leader to make an official visit to Greece in 2008, the first such trip for more than 25 years. Sarkozy also spoke in the Parliament in Athens. Hollande will dine with President Prokopis Pavlopoulos on Thursday night, before holding talks with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Friday.
