Malls of­fer very low lease rates for stores

the store lease rates on the Greek prop­erty mar­ket, es­pe­cially within shop­ping cen­ters, are even lower than in other South­east­ern Euro­pean states, such as Ser­bia and Ro­ma­nia, as the cor­rec­tion of the last few years has brought stores’ op­er­a­tional costs down sig­nif­i­cantly, at least in terms of rents. Col­liers In­ter­na­tional data show that the cost of rent­ing a high-stan­dard store in cen­tral Athens amounted to 140 eu­ros per square me­ter per month in May 2015, but in a mall this dropped to just 42 eu­ros/sq.m., one of the most com­pet­i­tive rates in the Balkans.
