The Be­naki Mu­seum, the US Em­bassy Athens and the Bri­tish Coun­cil are or­ga­niz­ing a con­fer­ence on the sub­ject of “The In­clu­sive Mu­seum: Broad­en­ing the Role of Mu­se­ums and Cul­tural In­sti­tu­tions in So­ci­ety.” The con­fer­ence takes place on Novem­ber 25 from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The event brings to­gether ex­perts who will ex­plore the ways cul­tural or­ga­ni­za­tions are be­com­ing more peo­ple-cen­tered and ful­fill­ing their roles as com­mu­nity cen­ters. Tak­ing part in the con­fer­ence is Anita Con­tini, head of arts and cul­ture at Bloomberg Phi­lan­thropies in New York, Esme Ward, head of en­gage­ment at the Whit­worth Art Gallery in Manch­ester, and Karen Wong, deputy di­rec­tor of the New Mu­seum in New York. There will be si­mul­ta­ne­ous trans­la­tion into Greek and English. En­try is free and based on a first-come, first-served ba­sis.
