Heads of Court of Audit and Council of State are named
The cabinet named the new heads of two of Greece’s highest courts yesterday. Nikolaos Sakellariou was chosen as the president of the Council of State, the country’s highest administrative court. Sakellariou had been the court’s longest-serving deputy president. Androniki Theotokatou was chosen as the head of the Court of Audit, where she too had been a deputy president. The two courts had been without official presidents for the last four months as the tenure of the previous top judges had expired and the cabinet had not appointed their successors. There was no need for a new Supreme Court head to be named as Vassiliki Thanou, who recently served as caretaker prime minister, had already been given this position.
