Refugees keep coming despite bad weather
Refugees walk through the rain on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos wearing thermal blankets. Bad weather has not deterred smuggling boats from bringing scores of migrants and asulymn-seekers from neighboring Turkey, fuelling fears of a new wave of drownings. On Saturday, more than 2,500 refugees arrived in Athens from Lesvos. Despite an initiative by municipal authorities in the capital to host the migrants in temporary centers most new arrivals prefer to camp out at the capital’s squares before continuing their journey.
