Gangs busted.

Po­lice in Thes­sa­loniki have ar­rested a to­tal of 21 peo­ple who they sus­pect of be­ing mem­bers of two gangs: One is al­leged to have black­mailed busi­ness own­ers, while the other is thought to have been en­gaged in hu­man traf­fick­ing. The first gang is al­leged to have been run from pri­son by a 38-year-old in­mate who had been im­pris­oned for mur­der and ex­tor­tion. The gang is thought to have had 19 mem­bers, three of whom are al­ready in pri­son. A po­lice of­fi­cer from Thes­sa­loniki is among those of sus­pected of be­ing part of the gang. He has been sus­pended from duty pend­ing an in­ter­nal in­ves­ti­ga­tion. The sec­ond gang is be­lieved to have con­sisted of at least six mem­bers, all of whom have been ar­rested.
