Man thought to be 4th victim
A man found dead on Wednesday in a streambed in Menidi, northwestern Athens, may have drowned during last week’s floods, according to police. If so, his death raises the number of lives lost in the floods which struck Attica at the end of last week following heavy rainfall to four. According to authorities, the man’s body was discovered by a passer-by in a stream near the junction of Aghiou Constantinou and Aristotelous streets in Menidi. While police sources indicated there had been no reports of people missing in the area, an investigation was under way, led by officers at the nearby Acharnon precinct.
