Ram­sauer de­nies in­sult

For­mer Ger­man trans­port min­is­ter Peter Ram­sauer has de­nied al­le­ga­tions that he in­sulted a pho­tog­ra­pher dur­ing a visit of Ger­man Vice Chan­cel­lor Sig­mar Gabriel in Athens on Thurs­day. Ini­tial reports said that Ram­sauer, a mem­ber of the Ger­man del­e­ga­tion ac­com­pa­ny­ing Gabriel, told the pho­tog­ra­pher, af­ter the lat­ter ac­ci­den­tally bumped into him, “don’t touch me you filthy Greek.” Ac­cord­ing to Ger­man me­dia, Ram­sauer took to his Face­book page to re­fute the claims and ar­gued that he was hit in the ribs by the pho­tog­ra­pher who was be­ing pushed by his col­leagues. Reports said Ram­sauer’s Face­book page was in­un­dated by com­ments writ­ten in Greek and was out of use for sev­eral hours over the week­end.
