Cham­ber of Com­merce head Si­mos Anas­ta­sopou­los has again called on the gov­ern­ment to im­ple­ment and take own­er­ship of the bailout pro­gram, on the oc­ca­sion of US Pres­i­dent Barack Obama’s up­com­ing visit to Athens: “The visit of Pres­i­dent Obama to Greece con­sti­tutes an ac­knowl­edge­ment of the Greek ef­forts and a huge op­por­tu­nity for the pro­mo­tion of our po­si­tions on eco­nomic, geopo­lit­i­cal and mi­gra­tion is­sues. The US is Greece’s most re­li­able ally and strong­est sup­porter of its po­si­tion for the need to re­duce aus­ter­ity poli­cies, ar­range the debt and exit the cri­sis. Adopt­ing the pro­gram and hav­ing a sin­gle gov­ern­ment voice will send a sig­nif­i­cant mes­sage of com­mit­ment to re­forms and strengthen US sup­port,” he stated yes­ter­day.

A day af­ter Pep­siCo-Ivi said it was ter­mi­nat­ing pro­duc­tion in Greece, Coca-Cola HBC, one of the world’s big­gest Coke bot­tlers, yes­ter­day an­nounced the ap­point­ment of Dim­itris Xynotrou­lias as mar­ket­ing di­rec­tor for the com­pany’s Fla­vors depart­ment (deal­ing with Sprite, Fanta, Sch­weppes etc) for 26 Cen­tral and Eastern Euro­pean coun­tries based in Athens, and of Lil­ian Nek­tar­iou as the new gen­eral di­rec­tor for Greece, Cyprus and Malta – the first Greek woman to un­der­take this role.
