Pro­pel­ler Club hon­ors Greek ships

Over 1,700 Greek-owned ocean­go­ing ships, man­aged by more than 170 Greek ship­ping com­pa­nies, were hon­ored on Mon­day evening at a spe­cial cer­e­mony by the In­ter­na­tional Pro­pel­ler Club of the United States – Port of Pi­raeus, for sav­ing hu­man lives at sea. Some of the Au­to­mated Mu­tual As­sis­tance Ves­sel Res­cue (AMVER) Awards were de­liv­ered by the new US am­bas­sador in Athens, Ge­of­frey Py­att.

Sidestep­ping DEPA. The sale of nat­u­ral gas quan­ti­ties di­rectly from Russian gi­ant Gazprom to lo­cal al­ter­na­tive sup­pli­ers of the Pub­lic Gas Cor­po­ra­tion (DEPA) is lead­ing to a full re­ver­sal of the do­mes­tic gas mar­ket. Gazprom has al­ready started sell­ing gas to Prometheus Gas and Heron, with El­pedi­son fol­low­ing suit as of this week.
