Or­a­cle Hel­las ex­pands lo­cal op­er­a­tions

Soft­ware com­pany Or­a­cle Hel­las is im­ple­ment­ing a new in­vest­ment in high tech­nol­ogy, as it re­vealed yes­ter­day with the an­nounce­ment that it is ex­pand­ing its new in­ter­na­tional cloud de­vel­op­ment hub in Athens to cover all the de­vel­op­ing coun­tries in South­east­ern Europe, the Mid­dle East and Africa. The Hub has been in op­er­a­tion since Septem­ber.

Ev­ery in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy se­cu­rity project that the multi­na­tional un­der­takes in the re­gion will be de­vel­oped and sup­ported by its sub­sidiary in Greece through this soft­ware se­cu­rity con­sul­tancy cen­ter.

Ac­cord­ing to the chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer of Or­a­cle Hel­las, An­to­nis Monokrous­sos, the new ac­tiv­ity will add at least 15 new jobs to the com­pany by May 2017. The aim is to fur­ther boost the num­ber of jobs, as a se­nior of­fi­cial of the firm says that the ac­ti­va­tion of the hub will raise the num­ber of Or­a­cle Hel­las em­ploy­ees who work with clients and projects in third coun­tries from Athens to around 55. “If all multi­na­tion­als in Greece could do the same thing Or­a­cle is do­ing, then we could speak of thou­sands of jobs in our coun­try,” he said.

The hub’s team (Or­a­cle En­ter­prise Se­cu­rity) has al­ready im­ple­mented so­lu­tions for lead­ing banks and telecom­mu­ni­ca­tion cor­po­ra­tions in Greece and re­cently ex­panded its ser­vices to Saudi Ara­bia and Le­banon.
