Bench­mark in­dex drops 0.47 per­cent in slow trade

Nei­ther the up­ward­course of Euro­pean mar­kets nor the pos­i­tive news about third-quar­ter growth was enough to con­vince traders to show Greek stocks some love yes­ter­day, in what turned into an­other low-key ses­sion.

The Athens Ex­change (ATHEX) gen­eral in­dex closed at 579.88 points, shed­ding 0.47 per­cent from Fri­day’s 582.59 points. The large-cap FTSE 25 in­dex con­tracted 0.14 per­cent to 1,534.19 points. Small-caps rose 1.498 per­cent.

In to­tal 44 stocks went up, 41 came down and 16 stayed put.

Turnover reached 28.2 mil­lion eu­ros, down from Fri­day’s 35.3 mil­lion.

In Nicosia the gen­eral in­dex of the Cyprus Stock Ex­change de­clined 0.27 per­cent to close at 66.50 points.
