The Ital­ian Cul­tural In­sti­tute in Athens is host­ing a se­ries of events as part of the “The Ex­tra­or­di­nary Ital­ian Taste” culi­nary fes­ti­val, in­clud­ing screen­ings of Ital­ian films and doc­u­men­taries. Events take place from Mon­day, Novem­ber 21, to Fri­day, Novem­ber 25 and ad­mis­sion to screen­ings is free of charge. Screen­ings in­clude Et­tore Scola’s “La Cena” (1998), Er­manno Olmi’s “Lunga vita alla Sig­nora!” (1987) and Alessan­dro Piva’s doc­u­men­tary “Pasta Nera” (2011). Screen­ings are ac­com­pa­nied by English sub­ti­tles. On Thurs­day, Novem­ber 24, Nikos Moschonas will de­liver a lec­ture on the sub­ject of “The Vene­tians and Ori­en­tal Wines in the 15th and 16th Cen­turies,” start­ing at 7 p.m. An Ital­ian wines tast­ing ses­sion will fol­low.
