Mind-boggling ineptitude

The leftist-led coalition government’s abject ineptitude in managing the refugee and migrant crisis is so mind-boggling it’s almost impressive. Time and again we have heard promises and assurances that all kinds of steps would be taken to relieve some of the pressure on the islands and to offer safe and clean accommodation, which have all led up to the complete fiasco we are seeing today and lamentable incidents on the islands of the Aegean. Does the responsibility for all this ultimately rest on any one person’s shoulders at the end of the day? Does the minister in charge of migration policy understand the difference between managing a nongovernmental organization and the task at hand for the government? The answers are clear and are also the cause of the dangerous chaos we are seeing today. Something needs to be done, and soon.
