Tributes poured in yesterday after the death on Sunday of veteran conservative and two-time Greek president Constantinos Stephanopoulos, seen in this 2002 photo as he arrives at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in Sydney, Australia. An Athens hospital statement said the 90year-old died from ‘complications of pneumonia.’ Known as a moderate, he served two terms as president from 1995 to 2005. Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras described him as ‘a moral man with a lofty vision,’ while President Prokopis Pavlopoulos said he was ‘a model of selfless, dignified and consistent service for the public good.’
