Greeks bid farewell to le­gendary Cuba leader

Trib­utes from around the world poured in af­ter the death of le­gendary Cuban leader Fidel Cas­tro on Satur­day. Prime Min­is­ter Alexis Tsipras was among the many lead­ers who paid their re­spects to the Com­mu­nist rev­o­lu­tion­ary, who died aged 90. “Farewell co­man­dante. Un­til the ul­ti­mate vic­tory of the peo­ple,” he tweeted. In a Face­book post, he said Cas­tro’s legacy will be man­aged by those who re­main be­hind in the “dif­fi­cult con­di­tions brought about by the fail­ure of neo-lib­er­al­ism.” The left­ist govern­ing party, SYRIZA, tweeted that Cas­tro was “vin­di­cated by his­tory.”
