Roupa’s mother gets child

The mother of Pola Roupa, the lead­ing mem­ber of the Rev­o­lu­tion­ary Strug­gle ur­ban guer­rilla group who was ar­rested last week, col­lected her 5-year-old grand­son from a chil­dren’s hos­pi­tal in the Greek cap­i­tal yes­ter­day. Fol­low­ing his mother’s ar­rest in Athens, the boy had been placed in the care of a pub­lic pros­e­cu­tor for mi­nors who granted cus­tody to Roupa’s mother af­ter re­ceiv­ing all the nec­es­sary as­sur­ances from so­cial work­ers and doc­tors. Roupa, who had been on the run un­til her ar­rest last Thurs­day, is to con­tinue serv­ing a 50-year prison sen­tence and faces ad­di­tional charges of set­ting up a new ter­ror­ist group.
