A makeshift device comprising three gas canisters exploded outside a bank in the Athens district of Ano Petralona early yesterday. Authorities said the explosion took place at the entrance of a Eurobank branch at 6 Trion Ierarchon Street. The explosion caused a fire while the front window of the bank was shattered. No injuries were reported and police have launched an investigation. The incident was the latest in a long string of attacks by anti-establishment groups against banks and the offices of multinationals.
