Monastiraki station to be closed today, tomorrow
Parts of Monastiraki station, a central connection point between the metro and the Athens-Piraeus Electric Railway (ISAP), will be closed today and tomorrow. There will be no access to the platforms serving the ISAP line as transport authorities will be installing turnstiles in a bid to prevent fare dodging. The work will only affect ISAP services and not Line 3 of the capital’s metro. Trains on the ISAP service will pass through Monastiraki station but without stopping. Commuters are advised to use Syntagma, Omonia or Attiki stations to make their connections until Thursday when normal services are set to resume.
