“The State Her­mitage Mu­seum: Gate­way to His­tory,” an ex­hi­bi­tion of works from the per­ma­nent col­lec­tions of the renowned Saint Petersburg mu­seum, is on dis­play for a few more days at the Byzan­tine and Chris­tian Mu­seum in Athens. On view are 80 works, rang­ing from an­cient ar­ti­facts to paint­ings and sculp­tures, in­clud­ing mas­ter­pieces such as El Greco’s paint­ing of the Apos­tles Peter and Paul and Au­guste Rodin’s Cupid and Psy­che. The ex­hi­bi­tion is tak­ing place within the “Rus­sian Year in Greece and the Greek Year in Rus­sia” frame­work of events. Open­ing hours are Tues­days to Sun­days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The ex­hi­bi­tion ends on Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 26.
