Transport workers in Athens are to walk off the job for the second time this week tomorrow in an ongoing protest against legislation that will pave the way for the commercial use of stations. Workers on the Athens metro, the tram and the KifissiaPiraeus urban electric railway (ISAP) and are to take part in the walkout, likely leading to traffic congestion in the Greek capital, as was the case during yesterday’s strike. Workers’ unions argue that the changes being proposed will strip the metro organization of funds and undermine its public character.
