In what has become a frequent occurence in the Greek capital, a riot police unit stationed on Harilaou Tr\\u03B9koupi Street, central Athens, came under a hail of rocks and Molotov cocktails hurled by unknown assailants early yesterday morning. No one was injured and no arrests were made. The incident followed street clashes late Monday between protesters and riot police in the suburb of Zografou over the evacuation earlier in the day of two buildings which had been occupied by squatters and members of anti-establishment groups since 2012. The some 800 protesters also demanded the immediate release of seven people who were arrested during the evacuation of the building. Police used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators who set fires to street dumpsters and hurled stones. The riots caused damage to two banks and two mobile phone stores.
