Fire ser­vice bat­tles flames as Mani blaze flares up again

More than 120 fire­fight­ers were dis­patched to the area to fight the blaze and stop the flames spread­ing to res­i­den­tial ar­eas. The re­gional fire ser­vice has been stretched to its lim­its fight­ing a se­ries of blazes since Satur­day that have caused dam­age but no in­juries. Prime Min­is­ter Alexis Tsipras vis­ited the fire bri­gade’s spe­cial op­er­a­tions unit at the Elef­sina Air Base in western At­tica to ex­press his sup­port for the fire­fight­ing ef­fort.
