Two die at bio-waste plant

Two peo­ple died yes­ter­day after suf­fer­ing breath­ing prob­lems in a pump­ing sta­tion at a bi­o­log­i­cal waste treat­ment plant in La­co­nia in the Pelo­pon­nese, south­ern Greece. Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, a 51-year-old Bul­gar­ian na­tional and a 37-year-old Greek man died in the in­ci­dent, while two others, aged 66 and 22, were rushed to hos­pi­tal after col­laps­ing while try­ing to help their col­leagues. The 51-year-old re­port­edly cried out for help after en­ter­ing the pump­ing sta­tion. The 37-year-old rushed to help but was also over­come by breath­ing prob­lems and col­lapsed. A post­mortem ex­am­i­na­tion is ex­pected to shed more light on the in­ci­dent.
