Two die at bio-waste plant
Two people died yesterday after suffering breathing problems in a pumping station at a biological waste treatment plant in Laconia in the Peloponnese, southern Greece. According to reports, a 51-year-old Bulgarian national and a 37-year-old Greek man died in the incident, while two others, aged 66 and 22, were rushed to hospital after collapsing while trying to help their colleagues. The 51-year-old reportedly cried out for help after entering the pumping station. The 37-year-old rushed to help but was also overcome by breathing problems and collapsed. A postmortem examination is expected to shed more light on the incident.
