Elections for new party leader due on November 12
Elections to pick a leader for Greece’s new centerleft party will take place on November 12, it was announced yesterday. A runoff vote, if necessary, will be held a week later on November 19. The purpose of the ballot is to elect a figure who will unite Greece’s center-left parties, including Democratic Alignment (formerly PASOK) and To Potami. Ten candidates, including PASOK leader Fofi Gennimata, To Potami leader Stavros Theodorakis and Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis are vying for the leadership.
