The third 2017 FIDE Chess Grand Prix to identify two players for the intended Candidates Tournament is underway in Geneva, Switzerlan­d. The tournament follows one in Sharjah, UAE, in February, and another in Moscow, Russia, in May. Six rounds of the Geneva competitio­n have been completed in the nine-round tournament. In the sixth, the Indian grandmaste­r Pentala Harikrishn­a outplayed Armenia's Levon Aronian and leads the tournament.
