One way to write an in­tro­duc­tion is to start with gen­eral his­tor­i­cal facts then state the spe­cific idea in the con­trol­ling sen­tence.

Ex­am­ple Sand­wiches orig­i­nated in Europe but are now found in var­i­ous ver­sions in many coun­tries. Ac­cord­ing to Wikipedia, the free en­cy­clo­pe­dia, this type of snack food is said to be the name­sake of John Mon­tagu, fourth Earl of Sand­wich. Sand­wiches may be made from plain, whole wheat or home­made bread with a va­ri­ety of fill­ing such as cheese, chicken and tuna. Condi­ments are of­ten used to im­prove flavour and tex­ture. Mak­ing cheese sand­wiches is an easy recipe which re­quires few in­gre­di­ents and a sim­ple pro­ce­dure.
