Welder charged with having one pound of ganja

A welder was remanded to prison on Thursday after being charged with being in possession of almost one pound of cannabis.

Quasi Griffith, 35, of 27 Meadow Brook Gardens faced a charge which stated that on January 18, at the Itaballi Checkpoint, he had in his possession 130 grammes of cannabis for purpose of trafficking.

No further details of the charge were presented by the prosecution to Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who remanded Griffith until February 3, when the case is to be heard at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
