McDonald’s General Store scaling down

Stabroek News - - NEWS -

The McDonald’s General Store on Alexander Street is downsizing its operations, due to competition from Chinese importers.

Although an ad published in yesterday’s edition of Stabroek News states that McDonald’s will be having a storewide “close down sale,” Gillian Grenada, the store’s manager, related that they are simply “scaling down”.

She indicated that because a number of their products are also being sold by the Chinese, management has chosen instead to specialize, and so will confine their products to those of English and Italian make.

The advertisement stated that the sale, which will begin on September 22 and continue “until stocks last,” will offer consumers discounts from as low as 10% to as high as 50%.
