Craig man found at koker died by drown­ing

The man who was pulled out of the De­mer­ara River near the Craig, East Bank De­mer­ara (EBD) koker dur­ing last week died by drown­ing.

The dead man has been iden­ti­fied as Rocky Narine, a res­i­dent of Lot 11 B Grant Scheme, Craig, EBD.

In­for­ma­tion reach­ing Stabroek News re­vealed that Narine’s body was dis­cov­ered float­ing near the koker around 8am last Wednesday.

The dis­cov­ery was made by the sluice op­er­a­tor who had just ar­rived at work and was about to start his daily du­ties.

The po­lice were alerted and Narine’s body was taken to the Lyken’s Funeral Par­lour where it was pos­i­tively iden­ti­fied.

Narine re­port­edly worked as a care­taker of a house in the com­mu­nity which he oc­cu­pied alone.
