Ac­cused rob­bers threat­ened vic­tim with scis­sors

Two men were yes­ter­day re­manded to prison af­ter a court was told that they robbed another man by threat­en­ing him with a pair of scis­sors

Linden Ben­jamin, 30, a fa­ther of five, and Dwayne McLeod, 23, were charged with armed rob­bery when they ap­peared be­fore Ge­orge­town mag­is­trate Judy Latch­man.

It was al­leged that on Oc­to­ber 27, 2017, the two men robbed Gary Dick­in­son of a Sam­sung phone, worth $13,000, a belt, worth $4,000 and $6,000 in cash.

The two pleaded not guilty and Ben­jamin claimed that he did not know nor had ever seen McLeod be­fore they were ar­rested for the rob­bery.

The two men were re­fused bail and were re­manded to prison un­til Novem­ber 20, when the case will be called again.
