The

Guyana Amazon Warriors crushed the St. Lucia Stars, humbling them with seven wickets and more than five overs to spare. The massive crowd at the Guyana National Stadium went wild when their bowlers restricted the Stars to a mere 100 runs.

The Warriors then kept the crowd on their feet with their dynamic performance.

The presence of the Leader of the Opposition, Dr Bharrat Jagdeo, amongst the crowd was indeed exhilarating. As the Warriors’ batsmen hammered the Stars bowlers all over the field, the Dr Jagdeo could be heard rallying the crowd to give their massive support to the Warriors.

Guyanese are indeed proud of the fact that it was their President Jagdeo who built the National Stadium at Providence.

The Warriors went into the match against the St. Lucia Stars fully aware that only a win will keep their hopes alive. However, victory was delivered and the Amazon Warriors’ next match will be against the Barbados Tridents.

The Warriors will be looking to defeat the Tridents and then win their next match against the Tallawahs.

Guyanese are very optimistic that the Warriors can win the 2017 CPL title.
