PPP profoundly saddened by the death of Ali Baksh

Weekend Mirror - - EDITORIAL -

The

People’s Progressive Party (PPP) is deeply saddened over the passing of its former Executive and longstanding Member and Minister within the Ministry of Agriculture, Comrade Ali Baksh after a brief illness . He has given years of yeoman service to the Party and his selfless efforts in the struggle to return freedom to Guyana remains a hallmark of his long and distinguished political career.

Hailing from Essequibo, Comrade Baksh served loyally in various capacities within the PPP including Party Supervisor and Member of the Central and Executive Committees. He dedicatedly served Region 2 for many years and during his tenure as Regional Chairman, he worked assiduously to help improved the lives of residents through the development of the social and physical infrastructures.

From November 2011 to May 2015, he committedly executed the duties as Minister within the Ministry of Agriculture, vastly assisting in delivering the mandate of the PPP/Civic government of providing better environment for all Guyanese farmers and increased markets for their produce.

His knowledge of what was needed in the communities was a valuable asset in his service to the country.

The PPP is grateful that Comrade Baksh was part of its structure and for his invaluable contributions to the development of the Party and Guyana. He will be profoundly missed.

Our Party and its General Secretary would like to extend deepest condolences to his immediate family, relatives and friends following his demise.
