What’s one interesting thing most people do not know about Kathmandu?

Crave - - TRAVEL -

The most important thing to know about Kathmandu Valley is that it has seven UNESCO World Heritage sites, the three Durbar Squares (Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur) and four pilgrimage sites – Buddhist stupas Boudhanath and Swayambhunath, and Hindu sites Pashupatinath and Changu Narayan. The diversity of the Newar community – their division of work, festivals, ritual and food – is also unbelievable.

Go-to spots for local cuisine?

I love Thamel House Restaurant and Nepali Chulo, in Thamel.

Your favourite spot in Thamel?

The Garden of Dreams.

Favourite neighbourhood?

Although it isn’t in Kathmandu, my favourite neighbourhood will always be my hometown, in Jhapa. People there are so honest, helpful and open-hearted.

Favourite garden?

The Godavari Botanical Garden is known for its wide variety of flowers and plants. It’s very big and you will be able to see birds and butterflies found only in Nepal.
