The ori­gin of manti or mantu dumplings is un­known but there are plenty of vari­a­tions around Cen­tral Asia, most prob­a­bly be­cause they were car­ried along the Silk Road. Turk­ish manti are a pop­u­lar va­ri­ety. These tiny dumplings are filled with minced lamb, onion and chick­peas and served with gar­lic-in­fused yo­gurt, Aleppo pep­per flakes, sumac, mint and but­ter.
