The Ja­panese sib­ling of the jiaozi, what dif­fer­en­ti­ates gy­oza is its con­sis­tently thin wrap­per and rich gar­lic flavour. These dumplings are com­monly found at iza­kayas, where they are served as an ac­com­pa­ni­ment to ra­men noo­dles. Typ­i­cally filled with a juicy mix­ture of cab­bage, chives, gin­ger, gar­lic and pork, and are pan-fried and steamed.
