The squat is an es­sen­tial move­ment pat­tern which cre­ates sta­bil­ity and strength around the hip, among other joints. Louie is per­form­ing a ‘Goblet’ squat hold­ing a dumb­bell on his chest. Full depth with a neu­tral spine is im­por­tant, and the mus­cu­la­ture through­out the legs, torso, and specif­i­cally the hips will be worked ap­pro­pri­ately. We are start­ing with 3 sets of 12 rep­e­ti­tions each ses­sion, with Louie aim­ing to progress the weight used whilst re­tain­ing per­fect tech­nique.
