Room 309

-

A tiny slice of a bar located in The Pottinger boutique hotel, it seems all the more apt that you’re required to “check in” and obtain an access card before entering Room 309. Inside you’ll find an intimate stretch where drinkers can only prop up the bar, sitting in close proximity and enjoying their cocktails. Conceived by award-winning mixologist Antonio Lai, Room 309 is dedicated to ‘clear cocktails’—that is, drinks that are transparent but by no means one note when it comes to complexity and flavour. The menu itself is laser printed on clear perspex—a bit of a difficult read—and proffers creations such as the Clear Colada Punch, with slowcooked coconut candy rum as its base. Each cocktail comes with its own canape or petit four, so you may receive a key lime pie with the citrussy Gone Gimlet with yoghurt gin.
